Envoy Bargaining Update for October-November 2017

Your CWA Bargaining Committee met with the Envoy committee on October 31-November 1.

The CWA Bargaining Committee passed a proposal related to Recognition to determine the bargaining unit and a counter proposal on Holidays. Since our election and ruling from the NMB there have been changes in some of the stations regarding the work being done in those stations. Most of this has to do with over the wing work now being done by mainline employees. We were successful in our agreement to keep all current bargaining unit members in the classifications that voted in the election in the CWA. This was a very difficult subject, and it took up most of the bargaining session.

We had lengthy conversations about a variety of issues occurring throughout the system. We told the company we are concerned about recent disciplines as well as local managers discussing negotiations directly with our members. We are waiting for responses to these concerns.

The company has not yet made an economic proposal. However, they committed to make one at the next session. We look forward to starting the crucial work of improving your pay and related benefits.

The next bargaining session will be held in Washington, DC, from November 28 to 30.
