It’s been a year since the global COVID-19 pandemic began turning our industry and our lives upside down, and CWA airline agents have been on the front lines at stations across the country. Recently we had a chance to talk to some American and Piedmont agents who have been in the trenches, dealing with COVID-19 and other health and safety issues.
A total of 250 passenger service agents received scholarships from the CWA National Education and Training Trust CWA/NETT) in the past few months. The agents took advantage of the funds to pursue new knowledge and brush up on valuable skills.
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the American Rescue Plan, which includes extension of the Payroll Support Program (PSP) through September 30, 2021. It's now time to make sure the Senate passes the bill to maintain our jobs before PSP expires in mid-March!

On October 3, 2018, the Senate overwhelmingly passed a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization bill that included critical protections from assault for passenger service agents. The bill also included a long-needed increase in the minimum rest period for flight attendants.
On December 5, newly elected Congresswoman Donna Shalala and State Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez joined Envoy-American Eagle passenger service agents for a rally outside MIA in support of a fair contract and against poverty wages.
Our fight remains about livable wages, and we are committed to fighting one day longer to bring back a contract that meets every member's needs.

The CWA bargaining team met with the Envoy team on September 5th and 6th. They discussed proposals on scope and classifications and passed a proposal on the drug policy. The next bargaining will take place in early November.
The CWA bargaining committee met with the Envoy bargaining committee on August 21 and 22. Envoy believes their proposal for wages is industry-leading, but our fight is about livable wages.
Our CWA bargaining committee met with the Envoy bargaining committee on July 27 and passed proposals on Scope, which included job descriptions for each existing title. Our fight is still for livable wages.
